An Australian Cattle Dog (ACD) is a highly intelligent, energetic, and loyal herding breed originally developed in Australia to drive cattle across long distances and rough terrain.

• Herding instinct: Extremely strong; they are natural working dogs.
• High energy: They need lots of exercise and mental stimulation.
• Very smart: Quick learners and problem-solvers.
• Loyal & protective: They bond closely with their owners.
• Sturdy & athletic: Medium-sized, muscular, built for endurance.

Appearance

• Colors: Blue, blue-mottled, blue-speckled, red-speckled, or red-mottled.
• Ears: Upright and alert.
• Build: Compact, strong, and agile.
• Tail: Moderately long, often carried low.

Temperament

• Confident, alert, sometimes reserved with strangers.
• Can be nippy or mouthy (a herding behavior) without proper training.
• Excellent working dogs, also great companions for active owners.
